Senior Security Engineer

ITAC Solutions is helping an established client in Birmingham search for a Senior Security Engineer! The ideal candidate will have relevant experience with a track record of success in an Information Security/Cyber Security role including experience in implementing, maintaining, and administering secure IT solutions.

What you’ll be doing (duties of this position):

  • Assess procedures to ensure the safety of information system assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access, modification, or destruction. 
  • Assist in providing support of the enterprise vulnerability management program.
  • Evaluate network and system security and recommend necessary modifications.
  • Perform security monitoring and follow-up on incidents in addition to reporting exceptions to senior management when necessary.
  • Assist in the development of short and long-term security infrastructure to include firewalls, VPNs, data loss prevention, and SIEM.
  • Investigate, evaluate, document, and correct actual or potential security exposures when identified and make recommendations for corrective action.

What you’ll need to be considered (requirements):

  • 5+ years of experience in IT Risk, Cyber Security, and/or Information Security.
  • Experience with firewalls, DLP, SIEM, Windows, Linux, VPNs, etc.
  • Security+, CISSP, CEH, GSEC, CISM, CRIS, CISA, or similar certifications highly desired.
