It’s a Good Time to be in Nashville

February 26, 2019

In case you haven’t heard, Nashville is BOOMING! ITAC Nashville Market Leader Kemper Trull and Recruiter Leslie Garcia are thrilled by the growth their market is experiencing. A renaissance has occurred in Nashville over the last 40 years. In fact, it has recently been ranked as the strongest metro economy in the U.S and as one of the best places in America for starting a business.

Though it's known for its thriving music scene, Nashville’s healthcare industry is one of industries driving this growth. WSMV News4 Nashville reported that the number of workers in downtown Nashville grew by 25 percent in three years and shows no signs of stopping.

What sets Nashville apart as a place to work and live?

“There’s so much going on [in Nashville],” Leslie said. “There’s entertainment, music, culture, art and so many great restaurants. It’s just a great place to be right now. We are seeing job growth booming, as well, and a lot of industries coming into the market.”

“The economy is booming, and people are moving [to Nashville] at record rates,” Kemper said. “The growth is really explosive.  It’s a great time to be there from a recruiting standpoint, but there are also new people and new companies and new ideas, and I think that creates a lot of opportunities for people of all different skill sets.  All in all, it’s a good time to be in Nashville.”

What jobs are most in demand in Nashville? Do you anticipate job growth in specific industries?

We are seeing a huge spike in IT roles!” Leslie said. “With more companies moving to Nashville, I think supply chain and operations will continue to grow, as well.  I’ve seen a lot of more data-driven analytical roles especially within healthcare, so that’s super exciting.  And of course, accounting and finance. We have a big, booming construction industry, so I expect job growth there.  Healthcare is well established, and we have new players coming into the marketplace, too.”

“Nashville is a healthcare mecca so there are a lot of healthcare jobs,” Kemper said. “Recently, there has been a bit of a shift and there are a lot of technology jobs.  There’s healthcare technology, too, which is a fusion of both of those industries.”
