ITAC Solutions Welcomes Kristen Schneider to the Birmingham Team

September 11, 2018

ITAC Solutions is excited to welcome Kristen Schneider to the Birmingham recruiting team! Kristen graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a minor in communication studies. Kristen began her career as an IT recruiter in Atlanta but is excited that her new position at ITAC brings her back home to Birmingham.

As an IT Recruiter, Kristen will place qualified candidates in fitting and fulfilling positions while striving to provide candidates with the best possible recruiting experience. To learn more about Kristen, check out this Q&A:

Q: What made you want to work for ITAC?

A: After meeting with Wes and Charles, I felt like ITAC was somewhere I could see myself not only enjoying the work that I was doing, but also enjoying the people I was working with, which is really important to me. I believe having a solid relationship with the people you are surrounded by makes everyone else successful and you more comfortable.

Q: What are you looking forward to in your new position?

A: Because Birmingham is home to me, I’m looking forward to filling positions with clients that I’ve grown up knowing the names of. A lot of the clients that we work for are household names or names of companies that people I know have started or worked for.  I think that’s something that’s really exciting.

Q: What’s one thing you really want candidates to know about you?

A: I am here to help them be as successful as possible. I want them to be able to communicate to me what they are looking for. Many recruiters have the reputation that they are just trying to make a dollar on a placement, but I want someone to be happy in the end and stay somewhere long-term.  That only works if they are communicative about what they are looking for.

Q: What’s your favorite part about working in Birmingham?

A: My family is here, and we’re close-knit. I also have friends who have either stayed in the area or moved back. Plus, I’m a lot closer to Tuscaloosa for Alabama games!

Q: Who’s your biggest role model?

A:  Sam Ponder (the current host of Sunday NFL Countdown on ESPN).  Her story of how she started as an intern getting coffee and became the reporter she is today is really inspiring. I think she’s a well-rounded person with strong faith that anyone could look up to.

Q: What’s your favorite quote?

A: “There are always flowers for those who want to see them.” I’m not sure who said that, but I’m a glass half-full kind of person. 😊

Q: What are three words that describe you?

A: Outgoing. Competitive. Laid Back.

Q: What’s your favorite summer activity?

A: Going to the lake!

Q: What’s something most people would be surprised to learn about you?

A: I’m a crazy dog lady! I have an 11-month old Golden Retriever/Yellow Lab Mix named Leo. He is my pride and joy!

Q: Bookworm, movie buff or Netflix binger?

A: Netflix binger! I’m currently watching Mad Men.

Q: Where’s your favorite place to hang out in Birmingham?

A: Collins Bar

Q: What do you do in your free time?

A: I enjoy being outside—running and hiking trails. I also enjoy traveling. I’m hoping my next big trip will be to Sydney, Australia!
