We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our client’s team in Nashville, TN. In this role, you will be responsible for a range of tasks related to legal document preparation and support, requiring an advanced level of proficiency in document formatting, transcription, and administrative coordination. Additionally, you will play a vital role in maintaining client confidentiality, meeting critical deadlines, and contributing to the efficiency and quality of their legal services.
Compensation: $60,000-$70,000 + DOE
What you’ll be doing (duties of this position):
- Prepare legal documents, memoranda, and correspondence from draft or dictated text.
- Create, edit, format, and meticulously proofread documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, ensuring the highest level of accuracy.
- Draft straightforward notices as required.
- Generate pleadings and briefs, demonstrating expertise in advanced formatting, styling, and editing features of Microsoft Word.
- Efficiently transcribe data from audio tapes.
- Transmit legal documents, memoranda, and correspondence to clients, witnesses, and court officials through various channels, including electronic filing, fax, email, mail, and messenger services.
- Provide assistance in managing client financial records, accountings, and reporting requirements.
- Maintain a meticulously organized calendar of critical deadlines and action-required dates, calculating them accurately.
What you’ll need to be considered (requirements):
- Preferred Associate's degree; Bachelor's degree considered a plus.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in a law firm or professional services industry required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain composure and tact in high-pressure situations.
- High initiative, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, detail-oriented environment.
