We are working with a client to help them identify their next Operations Manager for their Laredo, Texas facility. What you'll be doing (duties of this position):

  • Leading and managing a team of functional leaders (5-7) responsible for the daily operation of the facility. 
  • Working closely with the Operations Director on growth plans for the facility. 
  • Identifying and implementing tweaks to existing processes intended to increase productivity, decrease expense, and/or improve employee satisfaction. 
  • Establishing connections with all team members to build trust and rapport in an organization known for its collaboration and employee appreciation. 
  • Meeting regularly with functional team leaders to address quality standards, materials, scheduling of labor in conjunction with production needs, etc…
  • Maintaining a focus on the safety practices within the facility. 

What you'll need to be considered (requirements):

  • Current and relevant experience in manufacturing as an Operations Manager (title is not as important as actually doing the work of an Operations Manager). 
  • Strong financial oversight skills including budgeting and forecasting.
  • A natural inclination toward continuous improvement related to manufacturing along with the comfort to share ideas, accept others' ideas and the ability to execute on new initiatives. 
  • Exceptional leadership skills and an “involved” management style where the desire to “manage by walking around” outweighs the interest to manage from “behind the desk”. 
  • The ability to understand, use and manage your emotions and the emotions of others in positive ways to empathize, communicate effectively, and defuse conflict. 
  • Bachelor's degree (ideally in a relevant field such as management, logistics, or engineering) or equivalent work experience.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening including drug screen, criminal background check and credit check.
