Purchasing Supervisor

ITAC Solutions is assisting one of our well-known clients in their search for a Purchasing Supervisor to join their team in Birmingham, AL. This role requires previous leadership experience in purchasing and candidates must have a firm understand of the Alabama State Bid Law. This role is on-site.

What you'll be doing (duties of the position):

• Facilitate the purchasing of goods & services required for departments to perform their assigned tasks
• Monitor & administer extended agreements
• Assist co-workers with Purchasing issues related to the performance of their jobs
• Prepare & administer Requests for Quote, Requests for Proposal, & Invitations to Bid for goods & services as assigned by Purchasing Manager
• Supervise Senior Buyer, Purchasing Coordinator, Administrative Assistant & Building Attendant, which includes performance evaluations
• Assist other depts. with SAP processes, procedures and operational issues.
• Participate in on-going training to maintain proficiency in Purchasing & related duties.
• Perform other duties as required.

What you'll need to be considered (requirements):

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Min 6+ years of purchasing/buyer experience required and one year of lead/supervisory experience
• Must have knowledge of the Alabama State Bid Law & other governing rules
• Must be proficient in an ERP system (SAP highly preferred) & Microsoft Outlook
• Must have experience formulating budgets
• NIGP Certification within 18 months
• Valid Alabama Driver’s License
