Compensation: $90-100K+
What you’ll be doing (duties of this position):
- Prepare detailed, accurate project estimates from plans and specs
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and field crews to align estimates with reality
- Perform material take-offs, quantify cost factors, and analyze blueprints
- Recommend value engineering solutions that benefit both client and company
- Manage projects through key milestones, ensuring timelines and costs stay on track
- Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to secure best pricing and materials
- Maintain regular client communication and oversee final invoicing and closeout
What you’ll need to be considered (requirements):
- Experience estimating commercial construction projects up to $10M
- Knowledge of and experience with acoustical ceilings (ACTs), drywall, framing, painting, and carpentry
- Familiarity with estimating software and construction management systems
- Able to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans
- Comfortable with client interaction and maintaining a professional, polished presence
- Must be local to Birmingham or surrounding area — no relocation offered
