Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy Tech 
Our client is looking for a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT or ExCPT) with hands-on prior authorization experience to help review, process, and move prescription benefit requests forward accurately and efficiently. In this role, you’ll serve as a key resource for members, pharmacies, and provider offices—using your medication knowledge to verify clinical information, apply established PA criteria, approve requests that meet guidelines, and escalate cases that require clinical review.

Compensation: $17.50/hr

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Review incoming prior authorization requests and confirm required clinical information
• Serve as primary contact for members, pharmacies, and provider offices
• Process approvals when requests meet established criteria
• Escalate requests requiring clinical judgment to a pharmacist or appropriate reviewer
• Answer inbound calls, provide status updates, and explain benefit requirements
• Review faxes, document interactions, and process cases accurately
• Complete high-volume transactions while maintaining HIPAA and company compliance

What You’ll Need to Be Considered:

• CPhT or ExCPT certification
• Prior authorization processing and approval experience
• Background in retail, hospital, or pharmacy benefit environments
• Strong medication knowledge, including drug classes and alternative medications
• Ability to interpret established criteria and recognize when escalation is needed
• Excellent customer service, documentation, and attention to detail
