Title: Accounting Assistant
Role type: Direct Hire / Full Time
Location: Mobile, AL / On-site
Compensation: $45,000 – $50,000 (DOE)

What you’ll be doing:

• Assisting with general bookkeeping tasks such as entering journal entries, reconciling bank accounts, and filing tax reports.
• Supporting grant reporting activities, including preparing reimbursement requests and ensuring grant funds are spent appropriately and timely.
• Collaborating with the Finance Director on month-end closing procedures and various reconciliations.
• Maintaining compliance by preparing documentation for audits and reporting to creditors and financial agencies.

What you’ll need to be considered:
Education and Credentials:

• Minimum of 2 years of accounting-related experience or an accounting degree.

Experience:

• 2+ years of accounting-related experience or an accounting degree.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong attention to detail and ability to complete projects in a timely manner.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
