Accounting Manager

We have an exciting opportunity to work for an industry-leading producer of industrial materials as an Accounting Manager in the Birmingham, AL, area! This person will manage the Accounting Team, month-end close, financial reporting, sales/use tax, budgeting, and maintaining internal controls while leading control and system improvement efforts.

Compensation: $115 – 125K/year – w/ lucrative bonus opportunities.
What you’ll be doing:
- Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, fixed assets management, tax compliance, and scrap inventory accounting.
- Lead the preparation of financial and compliance reports, forecasting, and assist in the annual budgeting process.
- Drive continuous cost improvements by analyzing financial data, identifying cost savings, and implementing cost-effective solutions.
- Supervise internal and external audit processes, maintain proper internal controls, and initiate system improvements to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing training, guidance, and growth opportunities to foster professional development and ensure a high-performing team.
- Provide analytical support to various departments, address accounting-related issues, and collaborate with stakeholders to effectively drive business objectives.
What you’ll need to be considered:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field required.
- 7+ years of accounting experience.
- Minimum 2 years of management experience.
- Manufacturing or Cost Accounting experience.
- Strong experience with ERP systems.
- Ambitious team player, willing to work hands-on with your team to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
