Data Engineer

ITAC Solutions is assisting one of our great Birmingham clients in their search for a Data Engineer. The Data Engineer assumes a pivotal role in enhancing and maintaining our Business Intelligence infrastructure to meet company reporting needs effectively. What you’ll be doing (duties of this position):

• Develop robust systems tailored to collect and process data aligned with company objectives.
• Execute essential data management tasks including housekeeping, cleansing, normalization, and implementing necessary data model adjustments.
• Design, enhance, and scale data systems to efficiently ingest, process, and derive insights from data.
• Conduct data extractions from various ERP systems, focusing on Dynamics AX & D365, alongside other identified data sources.
• Monitor and uphold Azure Data Factory pipelines integral to the ETL process.
• Translate business requirements into actionable reports and dashboards to empower end-users.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues, employing troubleshooting skills to identify and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with the Data Architect to implement and advocate for best practices in data insights.
• Partner with divisions to establish optimal practices for custom divisional reports.

What you’ll need to be considered (requirements):

• A Bachelor’s degree is required, along with relevant experience in business process definition, software integration, or reporting. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience.’
• A minimum of 5 years in business intelligence and data warehousing, showcasing leadership abilities.
• Proficiency in computer tools, online reporting software, and Microsoft Office Suite essential.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 advantageous.
• Demonstrated expertise in data projects, SQL, Azure, PowerBI, and other SaaS reporting frameworks required.
• Extensive knowledge of Azure & Azure BI, as well as proficiency in Power BI, DAX, Power Automate, and ETL processes optimization, is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills are essential for success in this role.
