Litigation Attorney

ITAC Solutions is assisting a reputable law firm in the Birmingham, AL area on their search for a Litigation Attorney. In this role, you’ll handle a significant caseload spanning various legal issues, including but not limited to accidents, injuries, medical malpractice, and liability claims. Collaborating within a team environment, you’ll work to resolve cases through negotiation or litigation. Your role entails pursuing favorable outcomes for clients, whether through settlement discussions or courtroom proceedings.

What you’ll be doing (duties of this position):

• Manage a caseload of 60-70 personal injury cases, primarily consisting of car and tractor trailer accidents, with additional focus on slip and falls, medical malpractice, and product liability claims.
• Collaborate with the Pre-Litigation Department to attempt resolution of cases before escalating to litigation.
• File lawsuits and pursue claims against insurance companies, ensuring effective representation of clients’ interests.
• Prepare thoroughly for trials and diligently progress through cases, adhering to courtroom procedures and legal protocols.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on case progress every 30-45 days.
• Engage with insurance companies to negotiate settlements and facilitate case closure.
• Undertake occasional day travel for case-related activities, primarily within Alabama, with occasional assignments in Tennessee.

What you’ll need to be considered (requirements):

• Licensure to practice law in the state of Alabama.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• 5+ years of experience in litigation, preferably with a track record of regular courtroom appearances.
• Familiarity with personal injury law and courtroom procedures.
• Ability to manage a high caseload efficiently while maintaining quality representation.
• Strong communication skills for client interaction and negotiation with insurance companies.
