What you’ll need to know:
Role Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time
Location: Birmingham, AL | ONSITE
Compensation: $108k – $130K + Bonus
** Comp is dependent on experience **

What you’ll be doing (position duties):
 

• Develop and manage a risk-based audit plan for the entire organization.
• Function as an advanced-level oversight for financial governance, business integrity, and ethics.
• Complete annual risk assessments in adherence to the official Internal Audit Charter.
• Establish audit schedules to assist in evaluating and improving the company’s risk management, control, and governance processes.
• Maintain internal controls for accurate financial reporting and legal compliance.
• Report functionally to the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors and administratively to the General Manager, as per the Internal Audit Charter.
• Act as a managerial third-level control, independent of first and second-level controls.
• Maintain objectivity and effective working relations with Committee, executive, and operation management.
• Lead and develop an audit vision ensuring independent, unbiased, and timely work with well-supported findings and recommendations in reports.

What you’ll need to be considered (required qualifications):

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Master’s degree preferred.
• CPA or CIA REQUIRED
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in auditing.
• 2 years of supervisory experience required.
• Strong understanding of risk management, control, and governance processes
• Ability to work independently with due diligence and timeliness.
