Release Train Engineer

ITAC is assisting an established Birmingham client in their search for a Scaled Agile Release Train Engineer! The ideal candidate will be able to coach and mentor other Scrum Masters and oversee large-scale and/or enterprise-wide software development projects. This is an onsite role, please only local candidates apply.

What you’ll be doing (duties of this position):

• Practice core Agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, accountability, and practice continuous improvement
• Oversee business and technical requirements development, effort and cost estimates, scheduling, design, implementation, testing, approvals, user documentation and customer deliverables
• Lead multiple, simultaneous initiatives or programs / release trains
• Coaches ART Leadership on SAFe/Agile principles and practices
• Facilitates ART level ceremonies such as: Program Increment (PI) Planning, Inspect & Adapt Workshop, ART Sync, Scrum of Scrums, Architect Syncs, Leadership Sync Facilitates sprint demos, planning, and retrospectives
• Track and communicate key ART execution metrics
• Escalates and tracks ART impediments
• Provide status reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs), schedule, resources, and milestone delivery
• Partners with the Product Management team and Architecture leads to ensure backlog and architecture runway preparedness
• Support and educate Product Owners, especially regarding developing, refining and managing product backlog

What you’ll need to be considered (requirements): 

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field or equivalent experience.
• Four (4) years equivalent work experience in information technology or business environment
• A related advanced degree may offset the experience requirements
• Scaled Agile Framework certifications of SAFe Scrum Master, SAFe Release Train Engineer
• Strong facilitation skills with demonstrated ability to influence change at all levels
