Senior Network Engineer

ITAC Solutions is assisting a local client in their search for a mid-to-senior-level Network Engineer!

In this role, you will ensure the stability and maintenance of the company’s computer networks. You will also be responsible for the planning, configuration, and support of the network, as well as the design, implementation, installation, and troubleshooting of Cisco hardware!
This role would require someone relatively local to Birmingham, AL, and able to travel up to 25%.

What you’ll be doing (duties of this position):

• Responsible for the installation, monitoring, maintenance, and support of all network hardware, software, and communication links. 
• Planning, designing, developing, and configuring the overall infrastructure and network environment.
• Maintain Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Cisco ASA and FirePower.
• Deploy company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, switches, UPSs, and other Network related hardware.
• Monitor and respond to emergency network outages in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
• Safeguarding of data, software, and hardware from cyber threats.
• Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
• Utilize debugging tools and monitoring systems to find solutions
• Assist in the maintenance, configuration, and support of the Cisco VoIP network, network infrastructure, and backup systems, while assisting in the design and implementation of infrastructure solutions.
• Assist in the planning, deployment, installation, administration and management of data and VoIP networks.

What you’ll need to be considered (requirements):

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field.
• 7+ years’ professional working experience with Cisco, LAN/WAN, and hands-on configuring routers/switches experience.
• Prior experience working as a Network Engineer in a PC/LAN environment with knowledge of Cisco products, including VoIP telephone systems.
• Experience with CrowdStrike, Cisco ASA and FirePower, Rapid 7 are highly preferred
• Skilled in network capacity planning, network security principles and network best practices.
• Experienced in planning, deployment, installation, administration, and management of data and VoIP networks.
• Ability to diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software network problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide team and end user training where required.
• Ability to work well under pressure, as well as in a team-oriented environment.
