Sr. Data Architect

ITAC is assisting an established Birmingham client in their search for a Sr. Data Architect! The ideal candidate will be able to work cross-functionally with business stakeholders, developers, analysts, and management in order to design and implement a sound data strategy.

Job Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: Up to 175k/yr DOE

What you’ll be doing (duties of this position):

• Develop and implement overall data strategy to maintain single source of truth across various organizational business applications.
• Design and develop data models representing organization’s data assets ensuring proper normalization and data integrity.
• Design and implement data integration solutions to extract, transform, and load data from various business systems into data storage systems such as a data warehouse ensuring the data quality and integrity.  
• Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs SQL Databases along with regular maintenance and security management.
• Ensure data quality, integrity and performance by troubleshooting, query optimization, indexing and other such techniques.
• Document data strategy, governance, data models and integrations and provide knowledge transfer to the tech team.

 
What you’ll need to be considered (requirements): 

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in an IT related field or equivalent experience.
• 10+  years of proven experience in data architecture principles including data engineering, ETL operations, and data modelling as well as SQL Server
• Experience with an object-oriented programming language, such as Java, Python, C#, etc.
• Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance, data quality and data lifecycle management.
• Experience with data visualization tools
• Knowledge of security and data backup best practices.
