Amanda Wilson has been the financial backbone of ITAC Solutions since 2006, though she’d say the real job description is “professional problem-solver who lives in Excel.” As Controller, she oversees payroll, billing, cash flow, commissions, and onboarding, and somehow still finds time to be crowned the office’s reigning Excel guru. Ask what she loves most, though, and it’s not the spreadsheets, it’s taking someone else’s big idea and figuring out how to make it actually work.

She started in public accounting but found it too transactional; she wanted the story behind the numbers, not just the numbers. That curiosity, paired with a self-described “control freak” streak, led her to the Controller role, where she gets a hand in nearly every part of the business.

She’s also got zero poker face, her expressions come with subtitles, and a dry, sarcastic sense of humor she applies liberally, including to herself. What’s kept her at ITAC almost 20 years, through recessions, a pandemic, and inflation? The people, and the mission of helping people find work and businesses find talent.

When she’s not balancing the books, Amanda‘s usually balancing on a pontoon, she and her husband spend as many weekends as they can on Logan Martin Lake, wind in her hair, friends and family in tow. She also recently declared war on store-bought bread, taught herself to bake with yeast out of pure stubbornness, and now can’t skip a week without turning out a loaf of cinnamon raisin bread for her family. Speaking of family: three grown kids and one very large dog named Duke, who everyone agrees actually runs the house.
